*Thursday, August 16:* Trevor Owens from George Mason University will 
talk about Open Source Research Tools for the Firefox Browser at a 
meeting sponsored by a new chapter of the Education Society (Northern 
Virginia, Richmond, Hampton Roads, and Central Virginia) at the 
University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA.


*Call for Participation* -- Faculty and students working in the areas of 
multi-agent cooperation, robotic mapping, communications networks, and 
sensory processing at universities in the Greater Washington area are 
invited to participate in a competition sponsored by the Robotics and 
Automation Society. Deadline is August 17. A two-day tutorial will be 
held at NIST on September 13-14. For details, see
