For a small nest at least (size of a small orange), "ozone safe" flux
remover makes a startlingly effective paper wasp killer.  This was
straight fluid, no bic lighter involved (though it's tempting!).  The
wasps hit directly with the first blast simply died in place, didn't
leave the nest.

Relatively nontoxic, not killing the returning wasps 20 minutes
later.  I suspect a second application later on will be necessary for
the full "coup de grace".
