based on my reading of the goings on in the
commercial marine press, the ships are potentially interesting,
but the procurement process which produced them was,
uh, "suspect". doesn't mean there couldn't be more built right,
but the assorted mopery and dopery in the program was astounding.
it's not remotely surprising the program was shot.
