Alex,
While its usefulness is going down, some HP test gear has built-in code
to drive this plotter to make plots of spectrums etc without having a
computer involved. For example, I have an HP 8569B. I also have a 7475B
with the HPIB interface so I can plot out the screen.
There was a fellow that was selling new pens for HP on eBay although not
at the present time. I think they were made by a third party and were
much fresher than HP NOS pens. Also, you may be able to adapt current
writing pens to the plotter but I have not done this.
It is probably worth keeping around either for yourself or for some HP
equipment owner that can use it. I have several of these plotters just
in case...... but then I am a bit of a pack rat.
