The Chumby is a little weak under the hood (350 MHz ARM9, 64mb SDRAM,
64mb flash). This is noticably slower than my iPhone, half the RAM,
and a couple of orders of magnitude less storage.
That's not to say it's a deal killer, but i'm curious as to your
vision, beyond "use the usb interface". It'd probably be OK if we
were able to migrate a lot (as in almost all) the functionality onto
the Nexys2 board and have the Chumby be responsible for just UI
functions and D/A conversion. We're miles from being able to do that
though... and frankly, there are parts of the rx chain that we would
rather keep in a procedural language on a cpu rather than in an fpga.
