raspberry pi linux x11 setup question

Hi

I am playing with a raspberry pi running the raspberry version of Debian..

I am trying to setupX11...

The instructions say:

Create a ~/.Xdefaults file for users pi and root, containing one line (to display x11-apps in colour)

Where do I put the ~/.Xdefaults file?
