Richard,
Here is my article for converting a dollar store cell phone charger to a
boost mode supply for LEDs.
My approach is easier, more elegant and more effective than the
Instructables approach. Of course you can buy the parts and build your own
instead of converting the dollar store unit. If you do that I would suggest
using the NCP3063 chip.
