ARRL teaches hams to tell time...

As one who has to get up at 5am for work, I tend to go to bed early. 8:30pm and the sun is still high in the sky come mid summer. Utah legislature had the opportunity to eliminate this silly nonsense and keep us on Mountain Standard. Alas, it didn't pass.

Up here in the northern climes (Michigan), we love DST, whether or not it saves energy. The heat of the day is generally not so oppressive that we look forward to the cooler evening hours, and we have plenty of daylight to enjoy outdoor activities such as bicycling, golfing, and other social activities after work. Not only that, Michigan is situated at the far western end of the Eastern time zone, so in late June/early July, it's light until nearly 10pm here.
