if you’re remotely interested in how your cellphone knows its heading and orientation so it
can describe the star you are seeing through its camera, or are interested in the difference
between a 6DOF tilt-compensated eCompass and a 9DOF gyro-stabilized eCompass,
you can get started with the Sensor Fusion Toolkit that Freescale makes available at
www.freescale.com/sensorfusion <http://www.freescale.com/sensorfusion>
runs in Windows and Android. Android version can use the sensors in your Android platform
to show off things with real-time data.
Don’t blame me if you find you want to understand the magic behind the extended Kalman filter
that lets you put all this data together so that together it’s more accurate than any of
the single sources.
