True. Valve amplifiers introduce even order distortion, which, to some ears, sounds pleasant.
Transistors amplifier, on the contrary, have the nasty habit to have distortion levels below 0.01%
(if correctly designed).... their sound is too similar to the original to be perceived as "digital"... :-)
